“Baksheesh” or tip

Nemo’s Dive Club & Hotel answers a frequently asked question from our guests:
‘How much do I tip hotel staff, dive centre staff or the crew of the boat?

Our advice: 
Tipping is customary in Egypt. Of course, every customer is free to do so but it is considered here as an expression of appreciation by the customer for the commitment and services provided by the staff.
At Nemo Dive Club & Hotel work about 45 people: at the hotel, on the boat and in the dive centre.
Some of them you see every day, others work behind the scenes. All Nemo staff dedicate themselves daily to provide the best possible service to every guest and hope somehow this dedication is rewarded. They are certainly satisfied with a ‘thank you’ or pat on the back but a small financial compensation is very much appreciated. 
So if you are satisfied with their service we give you as a guideline: 

  • € 3 per day per guest.

All tips received will be divided equally between all hotel staff or crew of the boat. 
We hope this small clarification can be a guideline for all our guests and have been of service with this information.
When you are satisfied with the service of our staff, a tip is a nice thank you:

We provide 2 envelopes in your room 2 days before departure:

  • 1 for the crew of the boat and dive center staff (you can give this to the boat captain or Mostafa)
  • 1 for hotel staff. (There is a tip box at the front desk)
