What is the difference between SDI and PADI

SDI, founded in 1998, emphasizes technical diving roots and modern tools such as dive computers, with a focus on practical skills and progression to technical diving. PADI, founded in 1966, is the largest diving organization, offering standardized, accessible recreational diving certifications to more than 30 million divers. Both meet WRSTC safety standards, but differ in focus: SDI focuses on innovation, PADI on broad, consistent training.
Switching from PADI to SDI is not a problem at all. Your passed certifications remain valid and you can continue your dive training with PADI effortlessly.
