Nitrox

Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI Specialty course

After completing the theory, you will learn how to analyze the air in your tank, fill in an enriched air log, and set your dive computer for Nitrox. There are two optional dives.

Requirements:
  • PADI Open Water (or qualifying certification)
Minimum age:
  • from 12 years
About this course

Enriched Air, also known as Nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than normal air. Breathing less nitrogen allows you to enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals. It’s no wonder that Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI Specialty course.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Buoyancy control is essential to becoming a confident, relaxed diver.
By being perfectly balanced, you can hover effortlessly, use air more efficiently, and skillfully approach shy underwater life to observe it more closely.

With your instructor

Determine how much weight you need and how to distribute it on your body to streamline your posture. During two dives, you will learn to weight yourself better and further master trimming by practicing in the water.

Requirements:
  • PADI (Junior) Open Water (or other qualifying entry-level diving certification)
Minimum age:
  • 10 years or older

About this course

Excellent buoyancy control is what characterizes an experienced diver. You have probably seen them underwater. They hover effortlessly, use less air, and ascend, descend, or hover almost as if by thought. They observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. You can achieve this too. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course improves the trim skills you learned as a new diver and takes them to the next level.

Underwater Navigator

If you don’t know how to use a compass or natural navigation references, you can quickly become disoriented underwater.
Learn how to easily find your way back to the boat or the shore without having to return to the surface.
You will also avoid long, tiring swims.

With your instructor

Practice using a compass at the surface and then apply your skills underwater during three dives. Learn how to estimate distances, follow natural references, and practice finding your way back to the boat or shore.

  • Requirements: PADI (Junior) Open Water (or qualifying entry-level certification)
  • Total time commitment: 2–3 days
  • Minimum age: 10 years or older

About the course

Become the diver everyone wants to follow because you know where you are and where you are going. In the PADI Underwater Navigator course, your observation skills will be refined and you will learn to use your compass more accurately underwater. If you enjoy challenges with great rewards, take this course and have fun finding your way.

e-Learning

You will receive a code from your instructor that allows you to log in to the PADI site.
You then complete the theory online at your own pace.
Once you have completed the theoretical exam, you can schedule the practical dives in consultation with your instructor.

What is the difference between SDI and PADI

SDI, founded in 1998, emphasizes its technical diving roots and modern tools such as dive computers, with a focus on practical skills and progression toward technical diving. PADI, founded in 1966, is the largest diving organization and offers standardized, accessible recreational diving certifications for more than 30 million divers. Both comply with WRSTC safety standards, but differ in focus: SDI focuses on innovation, while PADI focuses on broad, consistent training.
Switching from PADI to SDI is not a problem at all. Your earned certifications remain valid and you can easily continue your diving education with SDI.
