‘Baksheesh’ or tip – a token of appreciation

At Nemo Dive Club & Hotel we often get the question:
How much tip should I give to the Nemo team and the Dory team?

Tipping is of course entirely optional, but is highly appreciated in Egypt. It is a nice extra token of appreciation for the effort and service of both the hotel team and the dive team.
At Nemo, around 35 staff members in the hotel and 10 team members on the boat and in the dive centre work every day to make your stay and diving experience as pleasant as possible. You see some of them every day, others work behind the scenes, but they all contribute to the warm atmosphere and service.
A smile or a kind word is always appreciated, but a small financial token of appreciation really makes a difference.

Tipping guideline

• Boat crew and dive centre: approximately €5–10 per diver per day
• Hotel team: approximately €3–5 per guest per day

Two days before departure you will find two envelopes in your room:
one for the boat crew and dive centre (to be given to the captain or Mostafa)
one for the hotel team (tip box at the reception)
All tips are fairly distributed within the teams.

With your contribution you help create a pleasant working environment and ensure that everyone continues to welcome you with the same smile.

Another little insider tip: Our team loves not only tipping, but also… chocolate! Do you still have a small spot in your suitcase? A piece of chocolate will make them at least as happy as a nice dip in the blue water!
