Dive sites around Safaga
Gamul Soraya
Gamul Soraya is also known as Gamul Al Saghair.
At this site the pinnacles to the south are the most interesting. They are covered with soft corals and surrounded by an abundance of marine life. On the way to the nearest and largest highlight you pass garden eels that sway over the seabed at a depth of 14 metres.
The pinnacles are draped in schools of butterflyfish, goatfish and groupers. There are surprisingly many scorpionfish on the sandy bottom. Batfish also hang around and like to pose for photographers. Lionfish and coral groupers hunt in cracks full of glassfish.
